Percussion Plus donates instruments for the TV programme Celebrity Wish List (channel 5 episode 4) to assist the Charity "Sing For Your Life" who help the elderly and people with Dementia around the UK by providing Music Classes.

London Drum Show 2011

Percussion Plus is attending this years “London Drum Show 2011” held at Olympia in London on the 15th-16th October 2011, where we will be demonstrating the recently launched Sonix 922 Series Drum Kit, just reviewed by Drummer Magazine as, “Superb sounding drums at a great price!”. Also showing will be a new range of genuine handmade cymbals from Turkey. The “Impression” range, which Percussion Plus have gained sole distribution rights for, has already been received highly by the trade. Mark Claydon,  known in musician’s circles as the man to hire for the fastest beats in town, endorses these cymbals.

Percussion Plus become Sole Distributors for “Impression Cymbals” from Turkey

Percussion Plus are pleased to announce that they have gained sole distribution rights for a new range of genuine handmade cymbals from Turkey. “Impression” cymbals are manufactured using only traditional methods, ie. coal, wood and hammers with no machines automating the hammering.

The cymbals were reviewed in the August 2011 edition of “Jazzwise” magazine and described as “cymbals which ooze quality and compare favourably with other models two or three times the price”. Read the full Jazzwise review. There was also a Drummer Magazine review of the Impression cymbals.

CBBC uses Percussion Plus instruments

Percussion Plus instruments are used to assist with the staging of a music room set for a new CBBC production. Called the "4 o'clock club", a witty, credible, visually arresting comedy using raps as part of the storytelling.

Instruments used in the production included a Chime Square with Tubular Bells (PP014), Sound Access Gongs (PP721), Coloured Maracas (PP215), 5" & 6" Pair of Bongos (PP310) and an Orchestral Chrome Music Stand (PP977).

UK Taiko Festival 2011

This year Percussion Plus sponsored and attended the 7th UK Taiko Festival held in Exeter in July.The festival brings together the ever growing UK taiko community for an exciting three days of inspirational taiko performances and workshops, with the chance for beginners to have a go for the first time as well as advanced workshops for experienced taiko players.

Showcased for the first time was the Sonix range of Taiko drums.

Percussion Plus Help The Kids Company

Percussion Plus supplied all the instruments they required to complete their design at the Royal Horticultural Societies, Hampton Court Palace Flower Show. This garden has been designed by Bill Butterworth of the Design CIC and the young people of Kids Company, for the younger children of Kids Company to form the final part of an extended therapeutic play space in their South London after-school club 'The Arches'.

Kids Company's avowed mission is to help heal traumatised young lives.Inspired by the Lewis Carroll poem “Jabberwocky”, Frabjous Day focuses on the poem's denouement, when our hero has faced down his fears and what previously seemed monstrous has now been resolved harmoniously into an opportunity for musical creativity, self-expression and personal transformation.
