Product description
×
The repinique or repique is a large and extremely loud high pitched drum, used to play lead rhythms and to signify changes in samba music. It normally has a skin on both ends, and its pitch sits between the deep surdos and the various smaller high-pitched drums.
This model has a medium 12" head on each end of the 30cm body, held in place by gleaming chrome counter hoops and 8 adjustable tension rods.
A combination of the deep aluminium shell and durable white Nylon skins - the definitive samba drum construction materials - ensures optimum resonance which creates that recognisable carnival tone. Each drum comes fully assembled and includes a tuning key for tightening the skins.
